Literary critic, Chairman of the Board of the Peace Studies Institute of Japan, general director of the Community of Television Viewers Demanding Broadcast Law Compliance. Graduated from Osaka University with a major in literature, and earned a graduate degree from Saitama University. He specializes in modern Japanese literature and 19th century German music. He has published over 20 books.
