Kerimu Uda Kerimu Uda
He was born in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. After completing his PhD at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, he found employment in Japan. He was appointed to the board of directors of the Japan Uyghur Association in 2019 and became the chairman in 2020. In 2020, he gave a speech for “Resist China” Japan and had an interview with former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. He is fervently working on behalf of the Uyghur people, most notably by requesting the Japanese government to recognize the suppression of Uyghurs by the Chinese government as genocide.
