Kunio Orita

Former Japanese Air Self-Defense Force General and Military Commentator. A native of Ehime Prefecture, he graduated from the National Defense Academy and became an F4 pilot. He studied at the U.S. Air Force Academy and was a visiting scholar at Stanford University. He has served as Director of the Defense Division of the Air Staff Office and as Commander of the Air Support Group. He is currently a Distinguished Professor at Reitaku University. In 2022, he was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure by the Japanese government. He continues to preach the necessity of deterrence in his work as a pundit to this day.
